Our Story

My name is Sean Shattuck and I own and operate Sunset Gems Sawmill with my wife, Karin. Since I was a child I have been in love with the outdoors and learning about all the various species of trees! We live in a small historic town named Rabbit Hash with our three dogs, Rocky, Emmy and Sophia, who will gladly greet you when you visit the sawmill! Karin has been a professional decorative painter and cabinet refinisher for over 25 years and helps design and finish our custom made pieces. Together we hope to make Sunset Gems Sawmill your favorite place to find lumber for your project and decor for your home!
